Stellen-Beschreibung
Role Overview
We are hiring Study Operations Moderators to support an on‑site, in‑person conversational data collection program. This role is based on-site at a designated recording facility and is not a remote or hybrid position. This is a fixed‑term, full‑time position aligned to a project timeline, with an expected end date currently around June, subject to project needs and local contractual terms.
This is a hands‑on, operational role for tech‑savvy, independent individuals who are comfortable working with audio equipment, following detailed protocols, and solving problems in real time. Study Operations Moderators are responsible for owning the quality of the data they capture, while also supporting participant outreach and broader operational needs as required.
The role combines study moderation, quality assurance (QA), and participant outreach support, working closely with project management, operations, and recruiting teams.
Key Responsibilities
Study Moderation & On-Site Operations

- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot recording hardware and software, including microphones, audio interfaces, and recording tools
- Ensure accurate handling of files, including correct file naming, storage, and documentation
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces and ensure proper care of equipment
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Own the quality of audio recordings captured during study sessions, including real time monitoring and basic quality checks
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve quality issues during recording (e.g., audio clarity, channel separation, file integrity)
- Take corrective action when issues arise and clearly document any unresolved problems
- Support review of recorded data to confirm it meets defined technical and quality standards
Participant Outreach & Recruiting Support
- Support participant outreach efforts during non-moderation time to help ensure a steady pipeline of qualified participants
- Assist the recruiting team by sharing ideas and recommendations on where and how to reach target participant populations (e.g., channels, platforms, communities, posting locations)
- Communicate with participants to confirm availability, eligibility, and logistics as needed
- Provide feedback to the recruiting team based on on-site experience and participant interactions
- Additional Operational Support
- Document process improvements, edge cases, and operational learnings
- Support additional project related activities as needed, including but not limited to process validation, documentation, and general operational support, depending on project needs and workload
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort working with computers, software tools, and hardware
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and make sound decisions in real time
- High attention to detail in structured, fast paced environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and well organized, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Comfortable working on site and following detailed protocols
- Willingness to support a hybrid operational role that includes moderation, QA, outreach support, and other project needs
- Fluency in German and French both written and spoken to interact effectively with local participants, follow instructions, and complete project related tasks.
- A professional level of English both written and spoken, as English is the primary working language for training, documentation, tool usage, and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred / Nice to Have Qualifications
- Experience with audio recording, microphones, or studio like environments
- Background in participant-based research, data collection, or field operations
- Experience in recruiting, outreach, or community engagement roles
- Medical or healthcare background (helpful for assessing conversational quality in real time, but not required)
Working Time, Breaks, and Scheduling
- Working hours, schedules, rest periods, and meal breaks will be assigned and managed in accordance with local working time regulations
- Where legally required, meal and rest breaks will be provided and compensated in line with local law
- Employees are responsible for accurately recording working time and breaks in accordance with local procedures
- Overtime, night work, weekend work, and premium pay (where applicable) will be governed strictly by local labor law and the terms of the employment contract
